Very Important Changes..

These changes will affect the current parking on Strowger Blvd., and take effect on Sept. 12tth:

Hello Sue and George

I am contacting you to make you aware of some parking changes on Strowger Boulevard, and to ask for your assistance in communicating this information to Pickleball Club members.

Due to the popularity of the Strowger pickleball courts, as well as the upcoming opening of new medical offices in the Apex building, the City will be making parking changes on Strowger Boulevard for the remainder of the outdoor pickleball season. Parking will be prohibited on the west (Apex) side of Strowger Boulevard. Parking will be permitted on the east (pickleball court) of Strowger Boulevard, south of the southerly Apex parking lot entrance to Hubbell Street. In addition, Apex is offering parking for pickleball participants in their parking lot from row 6 westerly (south of the security building; there is a sign on one of the light poles with the number 6). Please do not park in rows 1 to 5. These rows are allocated to tenants of the Apex building and their clients.

These changes will come into effect by Thursday September 12. There will be signs on the street indicating the new parking and no parking areas.

Thank you for your assistance in communicating this information to the club members.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Most Up To Date Strowger Blvd Schedule

So nice to see so many enthusiastic pickleball players at the new courts on Strowger! EVERYONE is welcome to play. You do not need to be a Brockville Pickleball Club member. There are some times throughout the week that have been organized for various levels of play. As it stands right now, the following has been scheduled:

Beginner and non-competitive recreational play
Monday 7:30 – 9:30am
Wednesday 7:30 – 9:30am

Recreational play, open to anyone who wants to play
Tuesday 7:30 – 9:30am
Thursday 7:30 – 9:30am
Saturday 7:30 – 9:30am

Intermediate+, advanced / competitive play
Monday 9:30 – 11:30am
Wednesday 9:30 – 11:30am
Friday 9:30 – 11:30am

Men’s Play
Monday 5:30pm

Women’s Play
Tuesday 5:30

Thursday Ladder *
5:30pm
* due to time required to get through ladder play, there is a maximum # of people during the 2 hour period. That number has currently been reached and there is a waiting list. (Contact Heather Branchard to be added to list). There is planning and organization required weekly to run the ladder, Heather has to confirm who is playing each week. If someone cannot make it, she has to change the play lists. This requires lead time, therefore, it is very important, if something changes, and you can’t make it, please let her know asap so she can find people to fill in for those not there. 😊

All of the times listed above only takes up 22 hours of the week. If you are wanting to get together with a specific group of players, to play your own games, it would best to avoid the scheduled times above, as there are often between 20 and 30 people at those times and everyone rotates on and off the courts fairly. (Using the buckets)

Having said that…. these courts are open from dawn to dusk, 7 days a week, to all who want to play. If you’ve never played, come on out to one of the above sessions and give it a try.  Alternatively,  feel free to bring your own group to play.  You do not need to be a member of Brockville Pickleball to come out and play. Everyone is welcome!

Have fun! 😎👍

Facebook Post by Heather Branchard..

I am looking to see if there is any interest in organizing a Monday Men’s play a Tuesday Women’s play and a Thursday Mixed Ladder. For the ladder we would take the first 16-20 people who are interested and commit each week. Let me know what you think and if interested.

( these would be evenings, 5:30 – 7:30pm)

You can respond directly to Heather on Facebook or, throug contact tab on this blog..

I know there has been talk of a Ladies night and possibly a Men’s night. Also some round robin play. Definitely lots of time in the week to do all of these things. Updates will be added as they arise.

Have fun! 😎👍
